About Me

Julie Ann is a British Citizen who has travelled the world looking for “home”.  She has sailed around the world for 7 years, is the best selling author of “Around the world in Seven Years” and a Book Publisher for 17 years, with 300 authors published under her guidance. She is a TEDx speaker on “The Gift of Dyslexia” where she proudly announced she is probably the only “Dyslexic Book Publisher in the world”.  For the last 7 years she has lived full time in beautiful Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  Four years ago she became the owner of a 18 bed property where she has been offering cultural and spiritual retreats, cultural travel experiences and apartment rentals.  She is now focusing on growing her community in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  Julie Ann now understand her true gift and purpose:

“During my recent visit to Damanhur in Italy, I  joined the Popolo. What touched me deeply was the invitation to unite our different gifts and live our values through everyday thoughts and actions. Thinking positively, embracing continuous transformation, conserving resources, appreciating diversity and nourishing our connection with one another all resonate with the vision behind my property named Casa de Influencia, also know as The House of Story Medicine. Our stories truly are our medicine in our journey of continuous inner transformation.

I returned from that experience with a new intention for Casa de Influencia, my home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I would love to welcome people who resonate with these principles to live here by the month and help create a small, caring community. My longer-term vision is for the house to be home to people who consciously choose this way of living, with preference given to fellow Popolo members and those interested in joining.

We have individual apartments, shared spaces and an ocean-view rooftop with a 16 person table and large catering kitchen where we can gather. You might come on your own and share an apartment with another resident, or come as a couple or friends and rent a private apartment. Monthly accommodation options, including utilities and internet, start at $850 USD for a private room, or US$1,800 for a private apartment with two bedrooms. People seeking a lower-cost option can register their interest in a shared bedroom at US$700 per person, subject to availability and a suitable match.

My hope is that our different gifts will help shape life in the house. Residents might bring yoga, dance, music, writing, gardening, cooking, art, massage or holistic practice, or another gift they would like to share. There may also be opportunities to propose paid classes or workshops for residents and outside guests, with arrangements agreed together.

For me, this invitation is also about building relationships with the culture and people of Mexico. I would love to introduce residents to local artisans and practitioners I know, and arrange opportunities to experience temazcal, cacao gatherings, river rituals, moon ceremonies and other offerings led by our local hosts. We could organise outings, explore together and share the cost of experiences such as a whale-watching boat trip.

You do not need to arrive with a particular skill or lead an activity to belong. A willingness to contribute, respect others and care for our shared home matters just as much. There will be an application process, and residents will be asked to agree to our community values and practical house agreements.

If this resonates with you, please send me a private message with a little about yourself, when you would like to come and your preferred accommodation arrangement. I would love to hear what you feel drawn to experience or contribute. Our best season starts in November with average daily temperature around 25-28, cool evenings, guaranteed sunshine and no rain and low humidity through to June.  Puerto Vallarta is on the Pacific coast, just a 3 hour flight from L.A. and offers lush jungle, waterfalls and rivers, spectacular beaches and sunsets and great whale watching from December to March.
