Songs from the Sacred Woods was born, inspired by a magic Damanhurian myth. Six songs that speak about a sacred alliance between humans and trees, about how to decipher messages around you and about the magic wonders that we can discover, by listening to the woods.

Many Damanhurians from all over the world collaborated in the realisation of these songs, in co-creation with the Sacred Woods of Damanhur itself. The trees have whispered the melodies, the sounds of the birds, the water and the leaves have been recorded to create the atmosphere from the Sacred forsest of Damanhur on the album.

In sacred language, Damanhurian singers sing hidden messages while the lyrics convey the Damanhurian philosophy, about the importance of the recreation of the sacred alliance between trees and humans and about the wise messages we can discover listening to the woods. The Damanhurian artists Zigola Pioppo and Tritone Crisantemo (Masterplants) have been the stewards of the realization of the album.

The Myth of Etulte, written by Falco Tarassaco is the inspiration for the project.

The album consists of six songs that tell the magic story of Damanhur Sacred Woods, according to the myth by Falco. The idea for the songs are born by listening to the melodies of the trees in the forest, using Damanhurian and shamanic methods to communicate with nature.

The creators lived in the Sacred Woods at that time and invited guests in the forest to collaborate and record the songs: Damanhurian musicians and also friends from outside of the community participated in the magic of the Woods.

I had a dream one night when I was guest in the Sacred Woods and in my dream, flying. I discovered places in the forest I had never seen. The next day when I explained about what I had learned in my dream, one of the team members brought me to this place of my dreams and we had the most amazing experience of actually perceiving music, harmonies in the forest, very different from human logics. My stay at the Sacred Forest was the beginning of opening myself to playing music with plants

– pianist that participated in the project.

With this project we intend to invite people into the magical and musical world of the Forests. Not just the Sacred Woods, but in the sacredness of nature everywhere around us.

The story of the Sacred Woods is just one of the magic stories that could be told about an alliance between plants and humans.

We hope this album will be an inspiration for all good listeners to learn that by listening to the woods, so we can recall who we really are.
